Experienced Detective Dormer and his partner Hap travel to a sleepy town in Alaska, a place where the sun never sets in summer. The two are said to investigate the murder of a 17-year-old. Right on the first evening, Hap opens up to his colleague that he will testify against him during internal investigations. When they set a trap for the killer a little later, Dormer accidentally shoots his partner in the dense fog. Cornered, he pushes the blame on the killer. He reports to him soon afterwards and forces Dormer to play a sophisticated cat and mouse game. The situation is sharper as the intelligent young police officer Ellie Burr questions his approach. Crime does not sleep. And it's not just the midnight sun that provokes Dormer's insomnia. This is no longer about any murder case this is about his own head.
